Welcome to the Professionals section of the Doncaster Learning Gateways site. This part is aimed at those of you who are involved in providing learning and offering information and advice on learning and employment. The project has been funded through Neighbourhood Renewal Fund (NRF) monies and Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council is the project's accountable body. The project's initial funds were to cover the period April 06 to end March 08. An extension to the activity was granted to September 08 and new targets were negotiated for this phase. All targets for the Learning Gateway project in both the initial and second phases have been completed succesfully. A further extension period has now been agreed focusing more on developing the Learning Gateway website as a means of communication and increasing usage of the tools that have been developed to inform strategic decision making. The project will continue to be guided in its major decision making by the Learning Gateways Steering Group which is made up of representatives from key learning related organisations. The project's future and possible linkages to other projects and organisations will be of paramount importance during the project extension period. Learning Gateways' activity forms a key element of Doncaster Education City in being able to support a network of Learning Centres which can provide quality advice and support for adult learners and help Doncaster generate a ‘learning culture’. Learning Gateways are drawn from a variety of different organisations including: community centres, libraries, children's centres, schools, businesses etc. For more information about Learning Gateways please contact the team at: enquiries@learning-gateways.co.uk or telephone on 01302 876121.
