Doncaster Education City (DEC) is a partnership of all organisations which work within Doncaster and have an interest in education, learning and training. These can include employers, schools, colleges, training providers, the local authority, adult and community learning providers and many others.
Doncaster Education City focuses on establishing a culture of learning across all ages in the Borough. Its aim is to foster significant increases not only in educational attainment and wide economic success but also to improve the life chances, health and enjoyment of every individual living or working in Doncaster.
To meet this DEC has established a number of small working groups, known as Task and Complete Groups, to tackle some of the most difficult aspects of learning and training within the borough. These first four Task and Complete Groups are:
- Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG)
- 14-19 Implementation Plan
- Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEETs)
- Adult and Community Learning and Skills (ACLS)
